A fabulous evening of entertainment in Bury St Edmunds!
Firestorm Cabaret: Decadence Ignited is a show with a variety of acts, ranging from burlesque, comedy, and theatre, sometimes all at once! The show features a variety of talent from around the UK, including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star, Nyongbella, a burlesque legend. Tempest Blaze produces the show, who’s an award winning performer in their own right and is the perfect person to organise this evening of entertainment. The venue was perfect and allowed for elegance throughout the evening.
The evening was hosted by Whiskey Twist, who is able to command a crowd perfectly. Her humour throughout added intermissions between acts and this helped keep the pace of the production. Our first act was Mimi Mariama in ‘Black Marylin’. Mariama confidently performed a range of musical moments, being a great opener for the evening. Following Mariama, Kitty Ribbons performed in ‘Don’t Bring Lulu’. Ribbons appeared is a miraculous balloon outfit and kept the audience on their toes as she teased each pop. Next, Profanity Pin Up in ‘Burning Love’ set the stage of fire with their Elvis featured performance. The final act of Act 1 was Calum Robshaw in ‘Mr Bean’: one of the standout performances of the night. Though it may have ruined childhoods, Robshaw brought comedy gold to the stage as he reimagined Mr Bean.
Our second act opened with Foxie Gingerella in ‘Big Spender’. Utilising a fabulous martini glass, Foxie opened the act with strength and bedazzle. Following this, Oola Pearl featured in ‘Naked Rambler’. Oola’s performance was another standout of the night as they mix a wandering travel with burlesque talent. Singing along to ‘500 Miles’ was also very enjoyable. Donna Poderosa strutted out with ‘Rodeo Queen’, giving cowboy carter vibes throughout the performance. Aya L’Storm then premiered a new act called ‘Galaxy’. The act was elegant and memorable, using a galaxy piece of fabric brilliantly. Following on, Profanity Pin Up returned in ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, another fabulous performance. The final act of Act 2 was Drag Queen royalty Nyongbella in ‘Diva’s Boogie’. Nyongbella continues to be a joy to watch and performed amazingly.
Our final act opened with Dominus Von Vexo in ‘The Villianess’. Dominus Von Vexo was wickedly villainous in the performance, gowning a dark dress which fit really well with the act. Shortly after, Romeo De La Cruz arrived in ‘Untitled Cruz’. Defying masculinity, this performance had style and confidence. Setting the stage, ‘Into The Fire’, returns Oola Pearl. In a more dramatic performance, Oola continues to prove a competent performer, using a fire inspired dress. We were then swept away with Donna Poderosa in ‘Welcome To The Carnival’. Donna celebrated the love of the carnival with a dazzling outfit and equally delightful dancing: the best performance of the night. The final act was Goodtime Mama Jojo in ‘This Is Me’. Mama Jojo was the perfect ending, with the legacy felt within the venue during the performance.
