The Queens are back! In this new tour from the creator of ‘Drag Me to the Disco’ and ‘The Show With Balls! comes a new live vocal spectacular where the Queenz will be going head-to-head for ultimate pop supremacy. We had the opportunity to talk to some of the queens ahead of attending the performance!
1: What makes this live drag spectacular different from the previous productions?
For the first time ever us girls are going head to head to be crowned the ultimate diva. The live voting throughout the show genuinely determines what happens next so for us girls it really keeps us on our toes and it means that no two shows are the same! Of course we still love each other… but it feels bloody wonderful to win!
CRAIG aka Billie Eyelash
2: How did you decide the set list and which number is your favourite?
When deciding the set list we had to include song’s from some of the most iconic divas, such as Brittany, Whitney and Cher too name a few. But my personal favourite is the Tina Turner medley – as it is high energy and very camp!
HARVEY aka Candy Caned
3: With the combination of powerhouse vocals, choreography and fabulous outfits, what was the hardest challenge combining all these elements together?
STAMINA! We are so proud of the quality of show that we give but it is FULL OUT! No matter how big the costume or how high we are singing, we still have to bring our A game and smash out that choreo. We are literally living out our pop star fantasy in this show and are holding nothing back!
KEITH aka Dior Montay
4: How does the audience impact the performance?
The audience is why we do what we do! One of the most special moments we share with our audiences on our tour would be during our iconic rendition of true colours where not a single person is left still in there seat by the end of it
DANNY aka Zeze Van Cartier
5: If you could only perform one number for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The song I could easily sing for the rest of my life would be “Somebody to love” by Queen
GRANT aka Bella Du Ball
