Welcome to Westerberg High, where popularity reigns supreme!

Heathers the Musical is the smash hit musical based on the beloved film featuring Winona Ryder. The story follows Veronica Sawyer as she starts another average day at school until the popular group ‘the Heathers’ take her under their wing. However, when Veronica meets JD, a mysterious and rebellious young man, things slowly become deadly. The musical has been very popular, winning WhatsonStage’s best new musical. With a brilliant score and great humour, Heathers the Musical is a must watch production. New Theatre Peterborough is the perfect venue to bring this world to life, with a fantastic stage and atmosphere.

The chaos, humour and powerful acting makes this a production worth watching. This revival is directed by Andy Fickman with choreography by Gary Lloyd, with very similar staging and movements. The musical is thoroughly enjoyable, with lots of humour and great music. However, some topics are less appropriate in modern day contexts. Regardless, this new cast stage a brilliant version of this modern classic musical.

Kurt and Ram, the school jocks, are played by Markus Södergren and Beau Jackson. Both of them were great together, having a strong dynamic when acting alongside each other. Martha Dunnstock, Veronica’s childhood friend, is played by Sophie Manners. Manners’ portrayal was innocent and her vocals during ‘Kindergarten Boyfriend’ were perfect! Ms. Fleming/Veronica’s Mom is played by Veronica Carabai. Carabai brought the strong, confident energy Ms. Fleming has to the stage well! Heather Duke is played by Jessica Ibadin. Ibadin’s vocals during ‘Never Shut Up Again’ were phenomenal! Heather McNamara is played by Lou Henry. Henry was able to show strong emotions in Act 2 with some believable acting.

Heather Chandler is played by Liberty Stottor. Stottor’s plays the iconic role with confidence and incredible vocals. Jason ‘J.D.’ Dean is played by Louis Hearsey. Hearsey’s embodies J.D perfectly, making for dynamic and entertaining performance. Veronica Sawyer is played by Ellouise Delooze. Delooze’s portrayal of Veronica was fantastic, with strong vocals and great acting choices: especially during ‘I Say No’.

Heathers continues to run until Saturday 17th October. Book your tickets here!

Tickets for this production were provided complimentary. Many thanks to New Theatre Peterborough for organising.
