This part ghost, part psychological thriller arrives at Bury St Edmunds!
It Walks Around The House At Night is a thriller and ghost story that invite audiences into the world of creepiness, dark humour and twists. The story follows an unemployed actor who takes on a job of playing a ghost in a manor. But as the night rolls on, the role starts to merge with reality and nothing is quite what it seems. The production returns after a sell-out UK Tour, brought to stage by the ThickSkin company, a touring company that brings production across the UK.
The piece is written by Tim Foley and directed by Neil Bettles. Both are supported with sound design by Pete Malkin and lighting/video design by Joshua Pharo. The company have a clear vision for the production, developing an extraordinary psychological thriller which keeps the audience engaged. The production weaves together a fascinating, gripping and compelling narrative which keeps the audiences at the edge of their seats throughout. Set and lighting were used effectively to build atmosphere and tension, whilst sound effects were used at the perfect moments.
The cast consists of George Nayler as Joe and Oliver Baines as The Dancer, also featuring the voice of Paul Hilton. Baines portrayed the dance fluently, whilst adding emotional weight to his piece. Naylor is the heart of the production, with his witty dialogue which is performed exceptionally well on stage. Joe is an enjoyable character to watch which makes for a play which is full of energy. Naylor brings this to his role and delivers a strong performance.
It Walks Around The House At Night continues touring the UK until the middle of November. Book your tickets here!
Tickets for this production were provided complimentary. Many thanks to the ThickSkin company and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds for organising.
