Explore Diana Spencer through the illusions of storytelling!

Los años maravillosos: Archive, Image and Collapse is a story about Lilian Beares, a young model, as we explore her life in conjunction with Princess Diana. This involves an interview, followed by news reports as different storytelling methods. These make the show unique in its approach, allowing for an intriguing piece about playwright Diego Beares’ mother. If this sounds interesting, find out more in our Q & A with the creatives of the production.

The show starts with interview questions to Lilian, with her answering these whilst getting ready. This made for an interesting way of introducing Lilian. I wonder whether the questions should be read live to allow actress Alba Campayo to answer more authentically: though it works currently too. As the show continues, we join Lilian as Diana dies: seeing her own collapse. This was a powerful visual on stage.

Alba Campayo makes for a brilliant actor on stage, being able to command emotions effortlessly navigating through the story. Her confidence on stage is clear and this allows her to portray Lilian authentically.

Los años maravillosos: Archive, Image and Collapse continues to play at the Etcetera Theatre until the 17th August. Book your tickets here!

Tickets for this production were provided complimentary. Many thanks to Bearesteatro for organising the tickets and we wish you all the best in the run!
